Whibberley Cottage is a fabulous picturesque terraced cottage, full of character with exposed beams and a large Derbyshire gritstone fireplace complete with wood burner. The bedrooms are made up on arrival with crisp hotel quality bed linen, Egyptian cotton bedding and a choice of plump pillows. The shower room is equipped with a shaver point and there is an ample supply of fluffy towels for all the guests.
Believed to be a former barn conversion dating back to the 1700s, the property is named after the Whibberley family who lived here for the last 200 years. Located in the picture postcard village of Ashford-in-the-Water, which stands on the banks of the beautiful River Wye in the heart of the Peak District National Park, you are surrounded by spectacular countryside. Ashford’s bridge is one of the most photographed in Britain and the village houses a beautiful church which holds relics dating back to 1200s. There are two local pubs serving food, plus a restaurant, tea room and well stocked village shop, boasting the best home-made pickles in Derbyshire. Alternatively you could take advantage of the picnic set available in Whibberly Cottage, and head for the hills for a day with nature.
