In fact, over its several hundred years existence, Wellesley House has been four individual cottages, a public house, an art gallery, and is now a much-loved family home with an attached holiday cottage. Wellesley Cottage adjoins the family home and the annex is entirely yours, including a small, fenced, gravel garden and independent access.

Boasting a lovely cottage garden with a private hot tub and a wood burner, this beautiful cottage is perfect for your break whatever the weather, as it would be lovely for a morning coffee or a glass of something chilled al fresco, or snuggling up in front of the fire with a fully loaded hot chocolate. There is also a large smart television for catching up on all your favourite streaming shows, a small but well-appointed kitchen, a ground floor shower room and a first floor bedroom with a lovely, very comfortable super kingsize bed.

Featuring a quirky spiral staircase with a beam that dates back over 100 years, this is not the property for couples with young babies or children, or for anyone with restricted mobility. It will however have bags of appeal and the owner has added lots of lovely finishing touches to make your stay special. It is going to be hard to tear yourself away from this pretty property but when you do, you will find yourself just over half an hour away from the stunning North Norfolk coast, the beautiful Broads and the medieval city of Norwich.

Head to Cromer and take a stroll on the pier or to Blakeney for a spot of crab-lining. Go a little further and find yourself watching the pretty little boats bobbing on the tide at Wells-next-the-Sea’s picturesque quay. In fact, the whole coastline is packed with sweet little villages with a wide range of coastal habitats, many of which offer great places to eat too. Then head to Wroxham, considered by many to be the gateway to the Norfolk Broads and charter your own day launch, or join a tour and drift along these famous waterways.

For a change of pace, visit Norwich with its Norman castle and numerous museums, galleries and theatres. Here you will also find all your high street shopping favourites along with an award-winning open-air market and the Lanes, which are simply bursting with artisan cafés, bars and shops. With lots of other local attractions too numerous to list, one thing is for certain, you will be sure to return to this part of Norfolk just to fit everything in.
