Within an easy stroll are the marina facilities, which include a licensed bar and restaurant, whilst the sailing town of Cowes is about a mile away. A pleasant ½-mile stroll further along the riverbank, or a short trip by river taxi, will bring you to a popular waterside inn that offers lively evening entertainment, good food and large waterside terrace where you can sit and soak up the atmosphere. Cyclists can enjoy using the Medina Greenway path to reach Newport within 10 minutes (also reached via a 30-minute riverside walk), where a further array of shops, pubs and restaurants can be found. Carisbrooke Castle, the other side of Newport, also makes for a good visit.
Just 2½ miles away from Water’s Edge you can visit Osborne House, Queen Victoria’s seaside home, and there are many tracks for walkers and cyclists threading across the island itself, as well as many beautiful beaches. Golf can be found about 4 miles away. Beach 6¼ miles. Shop 2¼ miles, pub and restaurant ¼ mile.
