The owners finished a renovation project on the property in 2019 and have thoughtfully furnished The Snug with the guests’ needs in mind. With lovely finishing touches and tasteful decoration, you’ll want this single-storey annexe to be your choice of accommodation when visiting the area for any length of stay. The courtyard garden is the ideal place to relax after a day’s sightseeing, with a glass of wine or eating al fresco on a warmer evening. Located in Shottery, formerly a small village before forming part of the town, it still retains its village atmosphere. The pub is across the road and serves fabulous food, along with a huge choice of beverages.
Shottery was the childhood home of Anne Hathaway and you can visit her cottage which is less than a 5-minute walk away. Just over a mile away, you’ll find yourself in Stratford-upon-Avon, where you can take in a production at The Royal Shakespeare Company Theatre, visit William Shakespeare’s birthplace, shop at the town’s regular market or bustling high street, along with independent retailers, and eat and drink at one of the many eateries from tea rooms and cafés to restaurants and pubs.
Take a trip along the River Avon by rowing boat or cruise, discover the tropical environment of Stratford Butterfly Farm and you can even join one of the town’s spooky ghost walks. Just outside Stratford-Upon-Avon, Charlecote Park, a 16th-century country house, is well worth a visit to see the surrounding deer park and beautiful stately home. Warwick Castle is 10 miles away, where you can have a fun day out with lots of activities available. The Cotswolds, showcasing stunning towns and villages, can be reached in 15-20 minutes, where you’ll enjoy meandering through narrow streets, gazing at beautiful Cotswold stone-built properties and visiting an abundance of country pubs along your journey. Shop ½ mile, restaurant and pub 5 yards.
