This converted former gatehouse (privately owned but on the Plas Talgarth Estate) is situated on the Wales Coastal Path and 10 minutes (5 miles) from the picturesque coastal town of Aberdovey and its beautiful sandy beaches. Should additional accommodation be needed, this property can be booked with Bungalow 6, Plas Talgarth, ref: 27268 (subject to availability and at cost), which is also on site, 3 minutes’ walk up the drive from The Old Gatehouse, and sleeps an additional 4 guests to accommodate up to 16.
This former gatehouse is set in acres of parkland, offering quality, detached family accommodation. The Old Gatehouse itself stands in its own grounds with a lawned garden and gravel drive. It is surrounded by mountains and situated in the Snowdonia National Park, just 5 miles from the sandy beaches of Aberdovey and its championship links golf course. The immediate surrounding area is a paradise for walkers and cyclists – the Wales Coastal Path is on the doorstep and it is possible to walk from the house to the historic town of Machynlleth or Aberdovey on the coast along this spectacular footpath. There are numerous other walks all around, varying in difficulty, and for those keen walkers or climbers, the mountain ‘Cadair Idris’ is 11 miles away, and is close to Tallylyn Lake and the Tallylyn narrow gauge steam railway. In the immediate vicinity, there is a number of mountain bike trails and forestry trails, including the original Mach 1–3 trails.
There is also an award-winning spa on-site - treatments are bookable/chargeable directly with the spa which offers a wide range of luxurious treatments, from single treatments including massage, pedicures and facials to a whole day of pampering spa treatments should you so wish. With any spa package treatment day purchased, there is also full access to the on-site indoor/outdoor pools, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna. There is also a restaurant conveniently located on-site which comprises a cosy farmhouse bar with an outdoor sitting area (dog friendly) and an indoor restaurant - a take away menu is also available. There is also an award-winning restaurant in the village. A children’s playground on-site will kepp the younger ones entertained. Off-site, there is paddleboarding, kite surfing, clay pigeon shooting, donkey rides and pony trekking nearby, together with an indoor swimming pool with water flume and toddler pool in Machynlleth, 4 miles. A pub/restaurant is conveniently located on site. Village pub/restaurant 200 yards. Shop 4 miles.

The low deposit payable under this offer is £20. 4. Does not apply to properties that sleep 10 or more. 5. The difference between the £20 low deposit and the usual deposit shown in our main brochure or website is payable with the balance payment, which we must receive no later than 10 weeks before your booking starts, or at the time of cancellation if you cancel your booking. This payment will include all applicable charges as detailed on your booking confirmation, including any insurance premiums and any Ferry costs. If payment is not received in full on time, we can treat your booking as cancelled by you for a non-refundable reason. If this happens, you will be responsible for cancellation charges (as shown in our main brochure or our website) including any deferred Booking Fee, Personal Travel Insurance and Ferry crossings that you have chosen to buy, all of which must be paid immediately. 6.
