This former gatehouse is set in acres of parkland, offering quality, detached family accommodation. The Old Gatehouse itself stands in its own grounds, fenced and gated with lawned garden and gravel drive. It is situated in the Snowdonia National Park, just 5 miles from the sandy beaches of Aberdovey and its championship links golf course. The surrounding area is a paradise for walkers and cyclists – the Wales Coastal Path is on the doorstep and it is possible to walk from the house to the historic town of Machynlleth or Aberdovey along this spectacular footpath. There are numerous other walks all around, varying in difficulty, and for those keen walkers or climbers, the mountain ‘Cadair Idris’ is 11 miles away, and is close to Tallylyn Lake and Tallylyn narrow gauge steam railway. In the immediate vicinity are a number of mountain bike trails and forestry trails, including the original Mach 1–3 trails.
A children’s playground on site will keep the younger ones entertained. Off site, there is clay pigeon shooting, fishing, pony trekking, kite surfing, paddleboarding and quad biking nearby, together with an indoor swimming pool with water flume and toddler pool in Machynlleth, 4 miles.
