Coastal lovers will be delighted to find themselves so close to the stunning North Norfolk coastline. Visit Blakeney for a spot of crabbing or Wells-next-the-Sea for its much photographed quay and narrow gauge railway that takes you down to the wide sandy beach with its famous painted beach huts. Or, head east and stroll along the prom at Cromer and stop off for a coffee on the pier. In fact, Norfolk boasts an array of coastal habitats that are sure to delight, including sand and shingle beaches, marshes, quays and undulating sand dunes.

If you want to really pack in all the Norfolk highlights, you can be in the heart of the Norfolk Broads in 45 minutes. Here you can hire a day launch or join a tour and drift along these picturesque waterways. Nature lovers will certainly enjoy a day here but will be spoilt for choice closer to home too as Cley Marshes, Pensthorpe Nature Reserve and Sheringham Park are all within easy reach. History buffs should make time to visit Norwich with its splendid Norman castle, take a trip on North Norfolk Railway, enjoy the Thursford and Muckleburgh Collections and explore Blickling Hall and the Sandringham and Holkham estates. Add in great walks, cycle routes, Amazonia Zoo and Bewilderwood, plus lots of celebrated golf courses, and you will soon see why this part of Norfolk is so popular. In fact, you will need to book in for another stay at the Old Chapel, just to fit everything in! Beach 5 miles. Shop 3½ miles, pub and restaurant 2 miles.
