This beautifully presented bungalow sits at the north end of Ambleside on Rydal Road, just a short level walk from the centre of town where you will find a glorious mix of shops, bars and restaurants and a host of activities. By day, visitors of all ages and abilities take to the surrounding fell ranges or head down to the water’s edge at Waterhead and when nights falls, Ambleside takes on a rather different feel with a variety of low key entertainment on hand, the village having two cinemas, an indoor climbing wall open until 10pm and a good selection of traditional pubs, many offering quiz nights and live music throughout the year.
The stylish accommodation here at The Lodge has been thoughtfully prepared to provide a very special haven where you and your loved one can relax, unwind and enjoy quality time together. Offering an open plan living space with comfy leather sofas and a cost gas fire for those cooler evenings. The double bedroom has a walk-in wardrobe, so plenty of storage for your belongings, and an en-suite luxury shower room. The well tended, sunny south facing garden is awash with colour in the spring and the perfect spot to sit and take in some fresh air and sunshine when our Lakeland weather will allow. Car owners of all makes and models will be pleased to learn that the garage is spacious and secure, perfect for those guests with classic or new vehicles.

    The Lodge is superbly situated in Ambleside with private parking. We have stayed there on a number of occasions in the last few years. However there are now a number of issues which would benefit from improvement. There is a two seater settee which needs replacing. One side is unusable as you can really feel the springs through the cushion. Fortunately there is also a single chair so it is possible for two people to sit in reasonable comfort. The heating is very effective but the radiators get too hot and it doesn't seem possible to change this. There is a thermostat so the heating does go on and off but when the radiators are on you would scald yourself if you touch them. There were only two soup spoons and no dessert spoons so these should be added. And the fan in the bathroom is very noisy presumably due to its age. If these issues could be resolved then the cottage would certainly be highly recommended.
