Ledbury in Herefordshire is famously known both for its range of festivals including the Poetry Festival in July, and also for being a historic market town dating back to 690AD with its black and white timber framed buildings, 17th-century market house and cobbled medieval streets. A short walk from the property will take you to an abundance of independent shops, antiques, crafts, galleries, boutiques, fine restaurants and bistros. There is plenty to see and do in the area; The Malvern Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, is within 8 miles, and attracts walkers, cyclists, photographers and artists. The picturesque Wye Valley, Symonds Yat and the Forest of Dean with its many picnic areas make for great days out. Historical places of interest include Hellens Manor, Eastnor Castle and many National Trust houses which are all a short drive away.
There are many outdoor pursuits close by such as fishing, climbing, golfing, riding, canoeing and kayaking on the River Wye. Regency Cheltenham, 24 miles, home to the famous race course which hosts the Cheltenham Gold Cup festival annually in March, also has an array of shops and eateries.
