Within walking distance of all Windermere’s facilities
Tucked away on a quiet road, The Hollies is a five star, 5 bedroomed, quirky Victorian house situated between the villages of Windermere and Bowness-on-Windermere. Within walking distance of train station, lake, marina, cinemas, theatre, restaurants, supermarkets, local shops and incredible fells - all minutes away. The Hollies is an ideal base for extended families or groups. A second twin bedroom with wet room on the ground floor is helpful for those with limited mobility. The open plan kitchen/dining room has crafted shaker style units with Belfast sink and robust granite worktop, and a desk with imac computer. A four oven gas Aga beneath oak beams rescued from an old chemist shop, and slate recycled from Grasmere bus station - is perfect for drying out a soggy kit! A library of books, maps, family games and films for little ones make this a wonderful place. The house is stylishly decorated with handmade wide white shutters. Oil paintings, teardrop chandeliers, Minton tiled floor, rugs and throws on comfy sofas fuse old and new in a tasteful way. Linen curtains over French doors lead from the ’grown ups’ dining room with woodburner to a walled gravelled courtyard - perfect for those balmy summer evenings, whilst the little pocket garden is lovely for a quiet moment. There’s even a Christmas box full of decorations for a festive stay- including Christmas tree if needed. All 4 upstairs bedrooms have luxurious bath or shower rooms and are provided with fluffy white towels so don’t be tempted to bring your own. Shops, restaurants and pub 1/4 mile.
