This former, Victorian, cliff top manor house was originally built over 100 years ago for the Lord Mayor of London, Sir James Thomson Ritchie. The grand property then had many other purposes including a school and a hotel, before it was sympathetically renovated to create an impressive mock Georgian manor house, split into apartments. Each apartment benefits from oak furnishings, as well as sumptuous leather sofas, well-equipped kitchens with granite work tops and contemporary appliances. There is also use of a shared garden where you can enjoy open views over the surrounding coast, town and countryside.
Apartment 1 (ref UKC2899) is an upside-down, ground floor duplex apartment with its own private entrance. The ground floor lays claim to a kingsize bedroom and a bunk bedroom, as well as a Jack and Jill bathroom. The first floor holds an intimate kitchen and a cosy living room with sloping ceilings.
Apartment 2 (ref UKC2900) is situated on the ground floor and is accessed by a shared entrance. Boasting three lovingly furnished bedrooms, one with en-suite facilities, you’ll be sure to enjoy a good night’s sleep. There is also a curved living room which leads into the kitchen/dining room, well-equipped with all you need to cook up a tasty treat.
Apartment 3 (ref UKC3105) is on the first floor and has an en-suite double bedroom and a curved living room with stunning views over Sandown Bay.
Apartment 4 (ref UKC3106) is a second floor loft apartment and has an open plan living space with a roof-top conservatory-style living room, a private balcony overlooking Sandown Bay and a double bedroom with vaulted ceiling.
Apartment 5 (ref UKC3107) is a ground floor garden apartment accessed by a private entrance and has direct access to the shared garden. It has two bedrooms, one being en-suite, a spacious bathroom and an open plan living space running the length of the apartment.
This fantastic manor house is ideal for those looking to explore the Isle of Wight’s southern coast, with views across Sandown Bay and Shanklin, and direct access to the Shanklin to Sandown coastal path. Just a short walk away is the beautiful old village, with its thatched cottages, cliff top and an array of local amenities. Beach ½ mile. Shop ¾ mile, pub ¼ mile and restaurant ½ mile.
Highlands Apartment 1 (ref UKC2899) can be booked together with Highlands Apartment 2 (ref UKC2900), Highlands Apartment 3 (ref UKC3105), Highlands Apartment 4 (ref UKC3106) and Highlands Apartment 5 (ref UKC3107) to accommodate up to 20 guests.

If payment is not received in full on time, we can treat your booking as cancelled by you for a non-refundable reason. If this happens, you will be responsible for cancellation charges (as shown in our main brochure or our website) including any deferred Booking Fee, Personal Travel Insurance and Ferry crossings that you have chosen to buy, all of which must be paid immediately. 6.
