This bespoke holiday home is located near Great Whittington and offers beautiful countryside views. Set on the owner’s farm, along with two other holiday properties, this semi-detached barn conversion accommodates up to eight guests. The Hayloft offers a wood fired tub with stunning south-facing valley views, and is ideal for family gatherings with some original beams and features throughout. The property offers Wi-Fi, an Amazon Echo and USB plug sockets in some of the rooms. Proud to be eco-friendly with biomass heating, it is always warm and welcoming. The property enjoys a private garden with barbecue, and shared access to the paddock and children’s play area which is set away from the property so no noise interruptions! There is plenty to see out and about in the area. The property is situated only 4 miles from the very pretty and upmarket historic small town of Corbridge with a good choice of pubs, bespoke shops, cafés and lovely church. Hadrian’s Wall has museums and Roman forts only 7 miles away, and a day can be spent visiting sites along the wall. Take your walking shoes and go over to ‘Sycamore Gap’, the famous tree which featured in the film Robin Hood Prince of Thieves. The dark sky in this area is beautiful on a clear night for stargazing and perhaps catching the Northern Lights. There is a friendly pub 1¼ miles away in Great Whittington which also serves Chinese food and is popular with the locals.
Capheaton Hall and Matfen Hall, both popular wedding venues, are a short drive so Rose’s Bower would be a great base if you are visiting one of the venues. The vibrant city of Newcastle is only 20 miles away, and the historic town of Hexham is only 7 miles with plenty of shops and pubs. A day trip to the seaside is only 33 miles away with the stunning Northumberland Heritage Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty worth a visit, or Tynemouth with beaches and plenty of upmarket bistros, fish restaurants and wine bars for a coastal day out. Rose’s Bower is an ideal base from which to explore the many delights of Northumberland and the border counties. Return to relax and unwind in this pretty and unspoilt part of the county.
