Enjoying a peaceful setting on the outskirts of the picturesque village of Nethy Bridge, Tamarisk makes a super base for exploring one of the most scenic and popular holiday destinations in Scotland. This detached house has been equipped and furnished to a good standard to ensure your holiday is as comfortable and relaxing as possible. Nethy Bridge, known as The Forest Village, spans the lower reaches of the River Nethy before it meets the River Spey, one of Scotland’s foremost salmon rivers. With the back drop of the stunning Cairngorm mountains and the Abernethy Forest, ’Nethy’ as it is known locally, is such a lovely destination for a family holiday. The village has a golf course, tennis courts, bowling green, children’s parks, and small swimming pool, all available for visitors to enjoy. It is within easy distance of some of the most popular attractions and activities of the Cairngorms National Park. Only 5 miles from Grantown-on-Spey and 10 miles from the bustling and popular town of Aviemore, which is situated in the heart of the Cairngorms National Park and at the head of the Speyside Way.
The area boasts a super range of shops, restaurants and bars along with a very wide range of outdoor activities including skiing, snowboarding, mountain biking, quad biking, climbing, hill walking and a variety of water sports on Loch Insh, Loch Morlich and the River Spey, just a few of the myriad activities available. Nearby, Loch Garten is an RSPB Nature Reserve and is very popular with avid birdwatchers as ospreys nest in this part of the park. Take a trip on the Cairngorm Mountain Railway, or visit the Cairngorm Reindeer Centre, the Highland Wildlife Park at nearby Kingussie, or the Landmark Forest Adventure Park in Carrbridge, all within easy reach. Visit the lovely Spey Valley golf course and the Dalfaber Resort with its wonderful array of leisure activities.
Visit the Moray coastline, peppered with little fishing villages and beautiful beaches, voted in the top twenty of the best coastline destinations in the world! A super base for exploring the many delights this area has to offer with so much to see and do for all ages. This area is exceptionally popular with the outdoor enthusiast, and for the less energetic, sit back, relax and unwind in this peaceful part of the Highlands. Fishing is also available nearby. Most of the house and equipment was fine apart from the mattresses which were poor quality; only a few wine glasses so not enough for all; very thin walls! Would be ok for people with young family because of thickness of mattresses but not for 8 adults. Didn’t want to say no to recommendation as the lounge was pleasant!
