Mixed Feelings The lodge is set on a working farm so it’s out of the way for a quiet break however it does sometimes smell a bit but it’s not a huge issue. The lodge itself is very comfortable and warm, two bedrooms (one double and one twin) with two bathrooms (one en suite). Missing Items / Negatives Unfortunately the lodge had some important missing items (no; washing up liquid/dishwasher tablets, hand soap, cleaning products, kitchen roll or bin bags). The frying pan has seen better days and the kitchen equipment wasn’t that clean. None of the TV’s worked and the WiFi signal only worked about 40% of the time and even then it wasn’t great. The owners did reset the WiFi a couple of times when we asked however the router was in the other lodge so we couldn’t reset the router ourselves. Dogs Dogs are welcome in the lodge however you can’t take your dog for a walk straight from the farm as it backs onto a very busy main road with no footpath. There are some great places to take dogs for walks a short car journey away 5-10 minutes. A comfortable stay If you’re looking for something very clean, quiet and comfortable then this isn’t a bad option at all. As the WiFi is intermittent this is a great place to get through a few good books and have family time perhaps with a board game or two.

The log cabin itself was fine but the decking outside along with the 3 steps you need to climb to enter the cabin was covered with moss and so slippery this ended up with an accident and a trip to hospital along with broken ribs and a very painful elbow Totally understandable that you can’t change the weather which makes the decking slippery but the moss that was on the decking wasn’t something that had occurred over a 2 day period it was something that had needed attention/cleaning for sometime. When this was reported to the owner a young girl was left to brush the decking down and cut strips from mats to place on the steps which worked until they dried out and the edges started to curl up making this just as dangerous. We booked this log cabin due to this being advertised as pet friendly and having kennels on site we thought there would be plenty of walks to take the dog on only to be informed there was only a small garden for the dog with a further 3 steps to use to access the garden which were as slippery if not worse than the steps to climb to enter the cabin. We were informed as this was a working farm we couldn’t let the dog off the lead anywhere and had to put the dog in the car and drive a couple of miles for the dog to have a good walk overall not that dog friendly Personally wouldn’t return as it has resulted in very painful injuries and being unable to return to work for the next few weeks!
