This stunning barn dates back over 200 years and was once at the heart of a working farm. Today it is a lovingly restored property nestled in an idyllic, rural tranquil setting, at the end of a country lane. Upon entering the property into the hallway a door leads into the spacious, elegant open-plan kitchen/dining room featuring exposed beams within its impressive vaulted ceiling. Complete with travertine flooring throughout and an underfloor heating system. The welcoming stylish kitchen area is well-appointed with bamboo worktops and a breakfast bar. It is fully equipped with everything a keen cook could wish for including a Nespresso coffee machine and Bluetooth speaker, while the dining area has a TV and a large dining table for the whole family to enjoy mealtimes together.
Steps take you down from the kitchen area to the living room, which is a spacious, bright room comprising beautiful wooden beams and three large comfy sofas, leather chair, beautiful wood burner and views of the rolling countryside. Double French doors lead out to a paved patio area and gardens beyond. For those wishing to dine alfresco in these peaceful surroundings, this south facing garden contains a barbecue and garden furniture. The top garden also includes a gravelled area with garden furniture to relax on and listen to nothing except the bird song! Back inside there is an office with views of the garden and also a utility room with plenty of storage. When it’s time to head to bed there are four bedrooms to choose from. An impressive superking bedroom with vaulted ceiling, beautiful bespoke built-in wooden wardrobes and en-suite bathroom, which has Jack and Jill style doors that can be locked allowing it to be used as a separate family bathroom. There are also two twin bedrooms and another super kingsize bedroom with plenty of storage and a second family bathroom.
Menheniot boasts two traditional pubs, a community shop, post office, church, salon and train station. A cricket club, snooker club and tennis courts are also in the village. Just 10-15 minutes away, you can explore the remarkable south coast with vast sandy beaches, perfect for body boarding, swimming and long walks along the stunning South West Coast Path. The rugged north coast, a mecca for surfers, can be reached within 35 minutes. Dog walkers will love Sibleyback Lake, just a 15-minute drive, with beautiful walks, windsurfing, kitesurfing and kayaking for the more adventurous. Menheniot also has its own ‘Adrenaline Quarry’, with zip wire, go-karts, coasteering and fresh water Aqua Park, just 10 minutes away on the outskirts of the village. Venture a little further afield and find popular Cornish attractions including The Eden Project, The Lost Gardens of Heligan, Lanhydrock House, along with numerous National Trust properties and gardens. The famous St Mellion Golf and Country Club is also just a short drive, featuring full leisure facilities and two golf courses, one of which is the Jack Nicklaus designed Championship course. Beach 8 miles. Shop and restaurant 2 miles, pub 1 mile.

Lovely peaceful barn. Bedrooms ideal for our needs. Garden brilliant for grandkids and dog. The Barn is ideally situated for Seaton beach, Plymouth, Lost Gardens of Heligan etc. We would go back again and recommend it if you are looking for a holiday cottage in the middle of nowhere but only 20 minutes to Morrisons or the nearest beach and only 40 minutes to Looe
