Beautiful views of the Malvern Hills can be seen from many rooms in Stubb Oak and are easily accessible from the many pathways around the property. The peaceful rural village of Colwall is situated on the sunny western flanks of the breathtaking Malvern Hills in the heart of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The village offers an excellent range of local facilities including shops, churches, pubs and a mainline railway station with services to Hereford, Worcester, Birmingham New Street, Oxford and London Paddington. It lays between the market town of Ledbury, 5 miles away, and Great Malvern, 3½ miles away, both of which offer a wide range of facilities and amenities including the famous Malvern theatre, shops and restaurants. Upton-upon-Severn, famous for its jazz, folk and blues festivals, and lovely riverside, is under 10 miles away. The cathedral cities of Gloucester, 22 miles, and Worcester, 11 miles, are worth a day trip. There is lots to do in the area including walking and cycling in the hills, a trip to the Elgar Museum and a visit to the local vineyards and cider producers. Shop, pub and restaurant ¾ mile.

As this was winter its difficult to comment on local amenities, but the cottage was welcomed by all. Comfortable, two reception rooms, wildlife, what more do you need for a family getaway Would certainly return to explore the area more in summertime

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for your lovely review however you mention things to do as you were in the winter period, there is plenty to see and do during this period. If you like walks put your wellies on and the maps of the area give you plenty to do, Malvern has many attractions from theatres to the Winter Gardens and the beauty of Ledbury and the Newent International Centre for Birds of Prey excellent for wild birds and also they fly eagles, owls, hawks etc. not to be missed, we’ve got the lot.

The best cottage we have ever rented for our annual "Doggie" holiday. Spotlessly clean, and everything you could ever need was provided. Would not hesitate to recommend it or use it again ourselves. The only possible way it could have been improved, was to have fitted fencing wire to the back of the gates at ground level, to keep our escapologist dogs from getting under them! We had to improvise with some of the implements from the garden. I think we will be back again next year.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for your lovely review, we are so glad you enjoyed your stay at our holiday cottage, as you know the fences around the cottage are 4ft high with pig wire to keep most pets in. The gates do have a gap underneath but we endeavour to find a cover to stop the smaller dogs from getting out but we must leave a gap for the badgers to leave the garden at night. Hope to see you again. Mike and Sue.
