Welcome to Stables Cottage, a charming 18th-century cottage tucked away within a beautiful walled garden in the popular village of West Witton in the Yorkshire Dales.
The property is quirky and upside down by design. The living area is accessed externally by a flight of stone steps. This compact loft space is open plan and well equipped with everything you need for your stay. Tastefully furnished and perfectly cosy, with the addition of a wood burner for cooler evenings in and for summer days there is a French door and Juliet balcony, with views to enjoy over the pretty gardens, and a wide array of books and local ordnance survey maps. The owners are keen walkers and happy to share their knowledge of the local area to ensure you get the most out of your stay. Stairs down to the bedroom with underfloor heating, kingsize bed and oak bedroom furniture, two steps up lead to the spacious bathroom with shower cubicle. The gardens can also be accessed from this level. Guests are welcome to enjoy the beautiful gardens with secluded patios and seating areas - perfect to sit and enjoy a relaxing cup of tea and read a book or perhaps set the table and enjoy a meal or fire up the BBQ and dine al fresco. For cooler evenings, guests will enjoy the summerhouse, tucked away in a quiet corner.
Situated in the popular village of West Witton, with a renowned restaurant, welcoming real ale pub, and bakery within a short stroll. Fine local produce from nearby market towns of Leyburn and Hawes. To the rear of the property is St Bartholomew’s Church, the tower of which dates back to the 16th century, and more recently rebuilt in the 1800’s. Views of the church can be appreciated from the garden. Outdoor explorers will love this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with rare and endangered species, flower filled meadows, ancient, wooded glades, rivers, craggy hills, and country lanes. Three Peaks are within easy reach. Beautiful area for walking, cycling, caving, or just relaxing.
