Whitby is an increasingly popular resort, with tourists from all over the world visiting each year. It is probably most famous for its links to Dracula, the Goth Weekender and the Whitby Regatta, but there is something new in town every year from music festivals to the Steampunk Spectacular. Seagull Vista is strategically placed for all the amenities that Whitby has to offer. The town has a myriad of shops and bazaars in the cobbled back streets, and boasts a 3 mile long beach that stretches towards the much sought after resort of Sandsend. Whitby is well-known for award winning fish and chips, traditional English food through to fine dining with coffee shops, wine bars and tea rooms which complement the traditional seaside offerings. Close to the North York Moors, there are wonderful walks through beautiful countryside right on your doorstep. If you don’t fancy walking, why not take a steam train journey from Whitby into Heartbeat Country and Goathland? You can still see some of the buildings and businesses used in the much loved TV show, Heartbeat.
The Yorkshire Heritage Coast is well worth exploring. You will find surfing schools and stories of piracy in stunning bays and coves such as Staithes, Runswick Bay and Robin Hood’s Bay, as well as Saltburn and Sandsend. Traditional seaside resorts such as Scarborough are easily accessible with attractions including The Sealife Centre, Peasholme Park, two beaches, an outdoor music arena and a water park. Beach 500 yards. Shop 100 yards, pub and restaurant 50 yards.
