Salty Blue is tucked away on a small street in the pretty little North Devon fishing village of Appledore. Refurbished in 2018 this lovely terraced cottage has a sunny rear garden which is ideal for an al fresco supper and just a short stroll to the quayside where you can watch the fishing boats come in and the yachts sailing across the estuary.
Appledore is one of the oldest and prettiest villages in North Devon, with it’s myriad of narrow streets, quaint cottages, pubs, restaurants, craft shops, art galleries and the bustling quayside, there really is something to please everyone.
Nearby Bideford has restaurants and town amenities along with boat trips to Lundy Island. Royal Horticultural Show, Rosemoor Gardens, Docton Mill and Hartland Abbey are well worth a visit. You can take the ferry or drive round to Instow on the opposite side of the estuary with its sandy beach, bars and restaurants and the wide golden sandy beaches of Northam Burrows and Westward Ho! popular with surfers, are just 2 miles away. Exmoor, Clovelly and Hartland Quay are close by and the area is a must for water sports, sailing enthusiasts and fishermen, whilst walkers and cyclists will enjoy the famous Tarka Trail which passes close by. Young and old will enjoy crabbing off the quay and golf and riding is available locally. There is a lovely estuary beach at low tide just 500 yards away. For family fun The Big Sheep, The Milky Way Adventure Park and North Devon Wakepark for water sports are close by. Beach 2¼ miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 20 yards.
