Riverside at Holmewood, Yarm is set in a stunning location on the banks of the River Tees, just a mile from the historic market town of Yarm and is perfectly suited for a romantic couples’ getaway or family retreat. The modern interior is deceptively spacious and open plan with a separate bathroom and folding doors out onto the fabulous decking area. With their own private hot tub overlooking the river, a relaxing decking area and garden area with fire pit, these lodges are a luxurious way to escape from it all and enjoy the natural surroundings. There is a carp fishing lake within the grounds (payable locally) as well as access to the River Tees’ only private boat jetty with two rowing boats available. The open plan eco lodges, Elm Wood (UKC3854), Oak Lodge (UKC3855), Pine Lodge (UKC3856), Beech Lodge (UKC3857), Chestnut Lodge (UKC3858), Willow Lodge (UKC3859) and Cedar Lodge (UKC3860), offer all mod cons including Smart TVs, Wi-Fi, even an electric car charging point outside.
Keep an eye out for the wild deer as they drink from the edge of the river, passing seals as they swim upstream from the Tees Estuary and the possibility of seeing the shy otters. There is an abundance of wild birds that visit the bird feeders on the land as well as black and white swans, a variety of ducks and many other types of wildlife frequenting the surrounding area. The Teesdale Way, a 147 mile trail that tracks the Rivers Tees from the source to the sea, passes by the front door. There are excellent family walks to be found in Hamsterley Forest and along the route of the railway line that runs from Barnard Castle.
Yarm is best known as a chic, classy and cosmopolitan town which is crammed full of wonderful boutique style designer shopping, pubs and excellent restaurants which offer the warmest welcome and hospitality. There are superb bistros, cafés and tearooms, vibrant nightlife and all round olde worlde charm, so you cannot fail to be impressed. The high street proudly boasts one of the widest cobbled high streets in England and one of the attractions is the small Dutch-style town hall, which is situated in the centre of the high street. It completes a stunning picture and tells a colourful history of the town and its inhabitants.
If nature is your thing, you are just on the edge of the North York Moors National Park and a short drive from The Yorkshire Dales National Park with stunning waterfalls such as High Force, top quality cycle and walking routes and some of the most amazing countryside in the UK. Although Riverview at Holmewood, Yarm is in a beautiful, peaceful riverside location, there is excellent access to major road networks ensuring that you’ll never be short of a day out with Durham, Ripon and York all within an hour’s drive and a whole host of coastal towns and villages such as Whitby and Saltburn all worth a visit. Head west and your not far from the cathedral city of Durham and the popular market town of Richmond. There is so much to see and do in the local area if you can drag yourself away from the beauty of Riverview at Holmewood, Yarm. Beach 17 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 1 mile.
