Accommodation description

Ramblers Rest is hidden away in an elevated, rural setting, with a fantastic view out to sea, over looking beautiful well-tended sub tropical gardens. This end-terrace, chalet bungalow is located on a private development of twenty six similar properties on the southern most point of the Isle of Wight. This one bedroom property is suited to couples, and a series of uneven steps take you up to Ramblers Rest, which is around 100 yards from the gated car park.
The chalet is surrounded by woodland and wildlife, meaning you are highly likely to see the native red squirrels and even badgers, although the owners’ kindly ask that you please don’t feed them. The attractive sub-tropical gardens within the development thrive as the area benefits from its own micro climate, which provides an ideal haven for a variety of flora and fauna. In a secluded and peaceful setting, this small but comfortable bungalow serves as an ideal holiday base to take in the spectacular seascapes with scenic walks of the Island’s rugged southern shore. St. Catherine’s Lighthouse is only a mile away, whilst the delightful, unspoilt village of Niton is a short distance to the north and offers an array of amenities, including the famous 16th-century public house for good food, fine wines and local ales.
Outdoor pursuits on the island are well catered for and include horse riding, fishing, cycling, paragliding, water sports and golf.
There are numerous attractions for all ages across the island including The Needles Landmark Attraction with its chairlift, amusement park, boat rides and coloured sands of Alum Bay. You can also visit Queen Victoria’s favourite holiday residence, Osborne House, as well as the nearby Blackgang Chine, the oldest themed attraction in the UK. Beach 1 mile. Shop, pub and restaurant ½ mile.
