Across the bay is the view of the spectacular Horn Head which has now been designated as an Irish Natural Heritage Area; this is a refuge for fauna and specifically for sea birds. Donegal has a coastline of 1224 kms, so wherever you go you are never far from the sea. Dunfanaghy is ideal for walking and has excellent walking routes around Horn Head, or you can climb Mount Errigal, Donegal’s highest mountain, or Muckish Mountain, the second highest in Donegal at 2,198 ft.
