Situated on the Northumberland Coastal Route with its stunning coastline of dunes and beaches, boasting magnificent views of Dunstanburgh Castle, lies North Farm Cottages. These charming holiday homes will delight all ages. Once the heart of the farm, these stone built cottages have been expertly created in the former granaries, workshops, barns and byres of the steading, with great attention to detail by the caring owners, to offer a holiday experience to remember.
Located on the edge of Embleton village, close to the popular villages of Craster, renowned for its smoked kippers, Beadnell with its water sports, and Newton-by-the-Sea with its National Trust beach. The town of Alnwick is only 7 miles away, with its majestic castle (used in Harry Potter films), the enchanting Alnwick Gardens, playhouse, cobbled streets, inns and restaurants. Dunstanburgh Castle in nearby Craster makes a lovely scenic walk along the cliff top, reached only by foot. Seahouses, known for its fine fish and chips and small working harbour, is always a visitor’s favourite. Holy Island is not to be missed, but remember to check the tide times, or take a relaxing boat trip to the Farne Islands to see the puffins or seals.
Embleton village has a friendly pub, restaurant, garage, post office and local shop, a well-equipped children’s park and magnificent sandy bay. A beach hut is also available to hire in Newton-by-the-Sea, a National Trust beach, by arrangement with the owners. There is a privately mown path to the beach at Newton-by-the-Sea and to the village of Embleton across the owner’s land. There is also a play park, duck pond and activities such as a mini beast mansion to keep the children occupied on their way to the beach, including a picnic area with breathtaking views of Dunstanburgh Castle and a WWll pillbox. Shop, pub and restaurant 0.75 miles.

The cottage was in a beautiful location. It was really cosy and very warm and the beds really comfortable. One downside was that it was advertised as having wi-fi but in actual fact didn’t. There was a router but we were unable to log on.

We loved the cottage, which was comfortable, cosy and very well-equipped. Great location, peaceful, lovely views and walks nearby. Very clean, and nice layout. The new swimming pool is divine, could have stayed in it all day! Parking at the cottage is ample for 2 cars, and off the main road, so peace of mind too. Absolutely the only downside at the cottage was the tiny cramped shower. Very hard to even bend down in it, especially for adults. The bathroom has ample space for a decent sized shower, and this is the only thing that would put us off staying in this cottage again. We would book again in a trice if we knew there was a decent sized shower there.
