Very disappointed that we had very uncomfortable beds, could feel the springs through the old mattresses. The bedding was old and some stains. The pillows should be thrown out. We made our own “pillows” and slept due to exhaustion. The crockery was unmatching and gave an air of being uncared for. It is a small cottage and we wouldn’t have stayed longer than the 4 nights as it wasn’t a cosy feel and only had the little sofa. Although we could have the option of going to the hotel we didn’t wish to leave the dog alone. Location fine and being next to Rutland Water was what made the holiday overall.

We had a great stay at Mushroom Cottage, the location is it’s greatest asset, the cottage itself was very welcoming, clean and comfortable, and the owner was on hand if we needed anything but didn’t intrude on us otherwise. We’d definitely recommend it as a great place to go.

We fell in love with Mushroom Cottage, it was perfect for us and our puppy. The location is excellent with easy walks and handy friendly hotel right next door. We would love to return.
