Anstruther is within walking distance, with its working harbour, shops, cafes, bars and restaurants, and you can enjoy fish and chips from the award-winning restaurant. Home to the Scottish Fisheries Museum, there are boat trips from the harbour to the Isle of May, where there is the world renowned bird sanctuary and nature reserve, famous for puffins and seals.
The Fife Coastal Path runs through the village, with historic castles, pretty fishing villages and many beautiful beaches and coves along the way. The ancient university town of St Andrews is 9 miles away, famous for its golf courses. Other golf courses close by include Anstruther, 1 mile, Crail and Kings Barns, both 5 miles. At the cottage there are built-in golf bag stands for you to store your golf equipment. For fishing enthusiasts, why not try your hand at crab, lobster and cod fishing (licence required) which are available in the local area? However you decide to spend your time, you can be sure that the comfort of Nautilus Cottage awaits your return. Relax and enjoy the views whilst planning your next day’s adventure. Beach 10 yards. Shop 800 yards, pub 100 yards and restaurant 10 yards.
