Sleeping up to 8 with an additional snug/games room, there is more than enough space to spread out on your well deserved break. The elegant living room with a cosy wood burner set in a large inglenook fireplace is perfect for those cooler evenings where the family can gather, planning visits within this unspoilt county. With a modern Smart TV and the choice of seating areas, families and friends will embrace the charm and attention to detail in this super spacious home.

The views from the rear of the property remind you that the village is surrounded by stunning scenery. Set by the Northumberland Dark Sky National Park, the least populated of the UK National Parks with a diverse landscape attracting visitors from all over the world, steeped in history in this ancient unspoilt place. This beautiful unspoilt area is close to Kielder Forest and Water Park which is fantastic for water enthusiasts, mountain bikers, cyclists and walkers where days out with breathtaking scenery is a daily treat. Kielder Observatory is also worth a visit. The Scottish Carter Bar with easy access to the Scottish Borders is only 18 miles should you wish to venture into Scotland during your stay. The small village of Otterburn is 9 miles with a good outdoor shop based in Otterburn Mill.

Day trips over to the coast don’t take too long and make a lovely change where you can visit the beaches and castles of Northumberland, perhaps stopping at Alnwick Castle and explore the cobbled streets. In 2018, Northumberland was voted the best county to holiday by the British Tourism Awards. Wherever you go in and around the county you will be sure of a real ’Geordie’ welcome from the locals. This large village has a local butcher, supermarket and all the amenities you need during your stay. Cafés, pubs and restaurants are only a two-minute walk, so leave your car and walk out for an evening meal.

    Beautiful well equipped cottage. Excellent location within village and for both coast and National Park. Fabulous, will definitely book again.
