On-site facilities including swimming pool

These beautiful cottages have been tastefully renovated from a traditional Welsh barn and are set in the heart of Pembrokeshire alongside the Llys-y-Fran Country Park and reservoir. There are plenty of facilities available for guests free of charge, including croquet and badminton, a heated covered swimming pool, all-weather tennis court and a children’s play garden. You can also enjoy the country park which is less than a minute’s walk and has a 200-acre reservoir and an impressive 100ft dam, the largest game fishing in west Wales. This is a beautiful woodland setting with a delightful nature trail for both walkers and cyclists, and an 8-mile perimeter trail providing fine views and a variety of wildlife including badgers, foxes and otters. The broadleaf woodland provides a breeding site for sparrowhawk, buzzard and woodpecker, whilst the lake attracts uncommon water bird species such as little gull and black tern. Set in the heart of Pembrokeshire, giving access to beaches, national park, the historic Preseli Mountains and the worlds famous Pembrokeshire Coast National Park and Coastal Path. Within a short drive is Oakwood Theme Park. A holiday in Pembrokeshire would not be complete without a visit to the picturesque harbour and the golden beaches at Tenby or the busy resort of Saundersfoot, a complete contrast from the more secluded parts perhaps, but always popular with children. Also within a short drive are Manor House Wildlife Park, Caldey Island, with its cistercian monastery and countless historic castles such as Carew, and Pembroke. It is an ideal location for a perfect family holiday as a getaway or for trying some of the outdoor pursuits and entertainment. Pembrokeshire is famous for its excellent restaurants and pubs. In the immediate vicinity there is the country park restaurant and two pubs serving food in the village of Clarbeston Road (3 miles). Golf and horse riding are within 5 miles.

Very nice holiday cottage, very 'compact', but comfortable enough for us. Shower / toilet room very, very small. Radiators insitu, but not connected, the 'storage heaters' were the little electric gas filled radiators that did't throw out much heat (we went October half term, so quite cold). We lit the log burner every day, but again that didn't give out much heat as the logs supplied / bought from Gareth were rotten, so burnt away really quickly. Gareth & Rosemary were welcoming and always around if required though. First holiday cottage I have come across without any games/books in, there is a games room, by the children's play area, but if you wanted to play any of the games in there, there was an additional charge, and also no heating in there as it was just like a summer house. Even though we didn't expect a 'welcome pack', there was only half a toilet roll, and 2 dishwasher tablets available. Views and walks very good, and close to Tenby, and other activities for the children. Even tough I sound negative about the cottage, it was nice, and we did have a nice time.
