This large, detached barn conversion has been expertly designed so that the centre of the property houses the communal areas, making it a very social space. It’s the ideal venue for a special occasion or a family get together but can easily accommodate multiple couples. It would be perfect for walking groups as well as cycling enthusiasts thanks to its excellent location in this stunning part of the Lake District National Park. The large and spacious living room features a 65" Freeview Smart TV and a range of easy seating making it ideal for a social night in with a couple of bottles of wine, and you’ll find an Xbox One as well as a bluetooth speaker to add to the ambiance. The high vaulted ceilings, beams and wooden flooring give a feeling of opulence whilst the open walkways upstairs look directly down on to the living room so you always feel connected with the other members of your party thanks to its open plan layout. This leads to a spacious dining room which is great for a banquet or a board game, as well as a spacious and well-equipped kitchen with range cooker and breakfast area. Please be aware that the property has a gallery landing and the stairs do not have stair gates fitted, as such it is recommended that children are supervised in these areas.
At the front you have access to beautiful gardens with lawn and patio with a sitting-out area and garden furniture, perfect for soaking up the afternoon sun.

Located in Bassenthwaite, a desirable area of The Lake District National Park, and with the lake and the village centre both under 1 mile away, you can explore this stunning area on foot yet you are only a few miles from Keswick, Cockermouth and the surrounding Lakeland Fells. Well behaved dogs are welcome to come along and there are plenty of dog friendly pubs and restaurants in the area as well as some beautiful walks available nearby.

Whether you are looking for a relaxing retreat or an action packed holiday, you couldn’t ask for a better starting point. Its quiet village location means that you can escape your busy lifestyle and retreat to the countryside in no time. There is an excellent pub and restaurant serving a range of local cask ales and great food just ¼ mile away. There is good access to plenty of walking and cycle routes nearby, as well as more challenging fells including Skiddaw, Catbells, Latrigg and Blencathra to name a few. You can walk to Bassenthwaite lake, and Keswick, Cockermouth and the surrounding Lakeland Fells are just a few miles away. The Lake District Wildlife Park, 1 mile, has over 100 species of wild animals, great fun for all the family. Also nearby is The Lakes Distillery offering tasting tours and producers of fine whisky, gin and vodka - always a hit with the adults. The popular town of Keswick, 7 miles, on the shores or Derwent Water, has an abundance of dining and shopping experiences as well as a mix of cultural hotspots and tourist attractions including The Pencil Museum, home to the world’s largest pencil, The Theatre by the Lake, offering award-winning arts and drama on the shores of Derwent Water and the mind-boggling world of The Puzzling Place, which is based on optical illusions and fun for all ages. Alternatively perhaps enjoy a trip to Cockermouth, 8 miles, the birthplace of William Wordsworth. Shop ¾ mile, pub and restaurant ¼ mile.
Kiln Hill Barn can be booked together with Skiddaw Cottage (UK12542), Stable Cottage (UK12543) and Byre Cottage (UK12544) to accommodate up to 24 guests.
