For a truly unique holiday location, Inchmurrin Island has to be the best and the scenery is breathtakingly stunning. Park your car on the shore of Loch Lomond, and after a short ferry journey, you arrive on the island. You are met and helped with your luggage, and taken to your holiday home.

The island has a fascinating history dating back to the 1300s and the ruins of the 14th-century castle, built by Duncan, the Eighth Earl of Lennox, can be seen along with other archaeological sites. The island has been attracting visitors for many centuries, some not always welcome. Rob Roy Macgregor raided the island in 1715 when it belonged to the Marquis of Montrose and stole all the cattle, deer and every boat on the loch. Kings and earls owned and visited the island for many centuries and it was stocked as a deer park. In 1930, the island was purchased by the Scott family who have lived and farmed Inchmurrin Island for three generations.

The superb self-catering properties comprise of three apartments and two lodges a short walk away. There is a restaurant and bar (open from March to November), boat mooring and a ferry service. The island is 1½ miles long and ½ mile wide, and is a great place to explore on foot or bike. Look out for the wildlife and admire the surrounding scenery. This is also a perfect location for watersport enthusiasts. For guests looking for a relaxing location to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, this couldn’t be a better spot.

Set within Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park, famed for its wild beauty, you can enjoy hill walking, mountain biking on forest trails, a cruise on Loch Lomond or a sea plane trip to see the scenery from a different view. The famous West Highland Way follows the shore of Loch Lomond, and the attractive villages such as Luss and Balmaha are worth a visit. There is so much to do for all ages.

Balloch, Balmaha and Boturich apartments are situated on the east side of the island a short walk from the lodges and are adjacent to the restaurant and
bar. They have direct access to a lawned garden leading to the beach and jetties, with plenty of space to berth boats, beach canoes and store kit such as windsurfers and paddleboards all ready to go. Each apartment has its own outdoor seating and barbecues with amazing views across Loch Lomond and Ben Lomond. They share a guest laundry/drying room, ideal for hanging wetsuits when our typical Scottish weather descends. Beach 10 miles. Shop on mainland, 4 miles, pub and restaurant on island, 100 yards.
Balloch Apartment can be booked together with Balmaha Apartment (ref UK7089), Boturich Apartment (ref UK7090), The Ben (ref UK7091) and The Lodge (ref UK7092) to accommodate up to 26 guests.
