Offset from the main sitting area is a cosy nook ideal for reading. A door from the lounge gives direct access to a first floor balcony complete with table and chairs, ideal for enjoying a quiet drink in the evening and overlooking the immaculately maintained Whitbarrow grounds. A well-equipped kitchen includes dining area for six, large fridge/freezer, dishwasher washer and Nespresso Virtuo coffee machine.
On the doorstep you will find stunning mountains such as Helvellyn, Skiddaw and Blencathra. Also, lakes including Ullswater, Derwentwater and Bassenthwaite are all within a short drive. The village of Greystoke is only two miles away, with its villlage pub providing an excellent place to eat, drink and relax. Worthy of note, one mile from the cottage is a farm shop which prides itself in offering high quality, locally sourced produce in its shop and cafe.
Nearby Keswick (10-minute drive) is a vibrant town with a great outdoor market and plenty of places to eat and drink. Its bustling centre has an abundance of quality restaurants, pubs serving local cask ales, independent shops and the obligatory outdoor and fashion brands. There is a host of delis, bakeries, coffee shops and local craft stalls. Famous for its narrow streets and courtyards, this traditional market town is one not to be missed.
