Living/dining room: With electric coal-effect fire, Freeview TV, DVD player, iPod dock, CD player and patio doors leading to patio.
Kitchen: With electric cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and slate floor.
Utility room: With washing machine.
Bedroom: With zip and link super kingsize bed (can be twin beds on request).
Shower room: With shower cubicle, shower seat and toilet.

Enclosed patio with garden furniture. 1 pet welcome, to be kept on a lead at all times (sheep country). Doggy extras.

All properties: Electric heaters, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Welcome pack. Barbecue. Bike store. Private parking for 2 cars. No smoking. Please note: This property has a natural water supply from a borehole.

These properties lie on the owners’ working mixed grassland farm, in a superb holiday location between Bodmin Moor and the north Cornwall coast. The Bull Pen (28055) and The Cow Shed (28056), have been converted from a traditional barn and are furnished and fitted to a very good standard. Both have a large kitchen/dining area, a wood burner in the living room, French doors and Juliet balcony in one double bedroom and a private, enclosed patio and garden area to the rear, ideal for morning coffee or an evening barbecue. The Hen House (28054) adjoins the owners’ farmhouse; it has a private patio area to the side to enjoy alfresco dining with country views. Boscastle is a 5-minute drive, with walks, harbour, shops, pubs and restaurants. Down the coast is Port Isaac, of TV series Doc Martin fame, where The Fisherman’s Friends sing live on the Platt on Friday summer evenings. A little further is Padstow with shops, pubs and restaurants including Rick Stein’s famous fish restaurant. From here you can take a ferry across to Rock to try the variety of watersports or walk or cycle along the Camel Trail, a haven for birdwatchers. The sandy beach at Trebarwith Strand is 4 miles. Within easy reach is horse riding, National Trust properties, the south west coastal path, golf courses at Bowood and Bude, surfing at Polzeath and Widemouth Bay. Shops, pubs and restaurants 3 miles. The Hen House (28054), The Bull Pen (28055) and The Cow Shed (28056) can be booked together to accommodate up to 10 guests.

    The Hen House is probably one of the better cottages we have stayed in, and we’ve stayed in quite a few! The owners are extremely pleasant and always on hand should you have a query or problem to solve. It is decorated to a high standard and the furniture and kitchen equipment are good quality. A nice touch is the welcome pack including milk in the fridge, some home laid eggs and a yummy home made Victoria sponge. Located close to Boscastle and Tintagel and many other places of interest. It is also dog friendly with a nice entrance porch where you can take off muddy boots and dry off Rover after a day out walking. A measure of the standard of a holiday property is a quick scrutiny of the “visitors book” and looking through theirs there is not one word of criticism at all. Says it all, really.
