With glistening sea views across the busy working harbour of Newlyn, this characterful cottage, with a large Mediterranean style roof terrace, is the perfect place to relax and unwind.
This reverse level accommodation makes the most of the stunning views, with the ever changing scenery of yachts, fishing boats, activity around the harbour and a lighthouse at the end of the pier. In the distance you can see the magical island of St Michaels Mount and the sweeping Mounts Bay. There are three bedrooms all with en-suite facilities making the cottage perfect for families, couples or groups of six. The master bedroom is accessed by a quirky, separate staircase but can also be reached through a secret lockable book case door, very Harry Potter. The living/dining room has high ceilings, comfy seating and patio doors leading to a large roof terrace, a lovely place to watch the sunset.
Hen Joppa appeals to visitors all year round as it’s the ideal place to unwind for a relaxing summer holiday and equally appealing in the winter months, appropriately located for storm watching. Located in Newlyn, a traditional fishing village popular with visitors all year round, with many great pubs and eateries on your doorstep all serving good food and local ales. There are many local amenities including a deli, bakery, cinema, take aways and a meadery right on your doorstep. With wide, sandy beaches and small, quiet coves there are endless coastal walks to enjoy. Take a stroll along the flat promenade into nearby Penzance or take a swim in the refurbished and eco heated Art Deco lido. There is a ferry service that runs each day from Penzance to the beautiful Isles of Scilly as well as the local air service from Lands End Airport. Fishing trips, kayaking, windsurfing, surfing, sailing and bike hire all available locally.
Art lovers are spoiled for choice with three local art galleries and the famous Newlyn School of Art which runs many short courses all year round. St Ives, home to the Tate Gallery and the Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden, is a short drive away. There are sub-tropical gardens to explore, historic houses and the ancient town of Marazion, overlooking the stunning St Michaels Mount. Just a short drive away you can reach Mousehole, a quaint village and harbour. Newlyn and Mousehole are popular at Christmas and New Year when they attract visitors with the Christmas Light spectacular. Beach 2 miles. Shop 200 yards, pub 10 yards and restaurant 200 yards.
