This two-storey, spacious apartment has been comfortably furnished and enjoys stunning views towards Sale Fell. Hawthorne House is set just off the A66, yet is situated in a very peaceful location at the northern tip of Bassenthwaite Lake, and only a few hundred yards away, is one of the only access points to the edge of the Lake. While set in a rural setting, the house benefits from being only 500 yards to the nearest pub situated next to Silver Meadows Wetlands Nature Reserve. Built in 1895 by the Stonemasons, the property has large windows and high ceilings, to make sure you see the most of the Lake District even while cuddled up on the sofa.
Hawthorne House is ideally located between the popular tourist town of Keswick, which is only 8 miles away, and 5 miles away is the charming market town of Cockermouth - the birthplace of William Wordsworth and the oldest town in Cumbria. Nearby are Whinlatter Visitor Centre and Dodd Wood where you can visit the Ospreys Viewpoint. The Lakes Distillery is 1 mile away; a pleasant walk along Bassenthwaite Lake.
The property is an ideal base for walkers, cyclists and sailors, as it is only 500 metres away from Bassenthwaite Sailing Club. Cockermouth Golf Club Embleton is only 2½ miles away. Ideal for families, just up the road, is the Bassenthwaite Lake National Nature Reserve. Fishing can also be found nearby. Beach 18 miles. Shop 5 miles, pub and restaurant 500 yards.
