Accommodation description

Open plan living space.
Living area: With electric fire, Freeview TV, DVD player and CD player.
Dining area.
Kitchen area: With Electric cooker, microwave and fridge.
First Floor:
Bedroom: Galleried with four poster double bed and en-suite with shower cubicle and toilet.

Patio with garden furniture. No smoking.

All properties: Biomass central heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. External utility room with washing machine, tumble dryer and freezer (shared). Barbecue available on request (shared). Hot tub (shared with other properties on-site on a rota basis). Bike store. Private parking for 1 car.

These three, 18th century barn conversions, (refs 80043, 28645, 28646) are located just 1 mile from the market town of Alston, one of the highest towns in the country and a charming backdrop to many a period film and TV series. Situated behind the owner’s home, these holiday cottages offer comfortable accommodation with their own sitting-out areas.
Guests have shared use of the hot tub where views can be enjoyed towards Mount Hooley and over the South Tyne Valley. The changing landscape throughout the seasons makes for picturesque views all year round. After a day out exploring this delightful area, what better way to soak those tired limbs and relax.
This is a good base for exploring Tynedale and the North Pennines by foot, bicycle or car, with many places of interest to visit, including Alston’s narrow gauge railway, Pennine Pottery and local crafts. The Pennine Way runs past the door, with walks in all directions. Alston, with its quaint cobbled main street, has a range of individual shops, character inns, restaurants and tea rooms. Within the area is an historical Roman fort and tourists will enjoy the museums, exhibitions and sites along Hadrian’s Wall. The Lake District, Beamish Museum, Newcastle, the Metro Centre, Carlisle and the Scottish Borders are all within driving distance. Ideal for families or friends to get together, these properties (red 80043, 28645 and 28646) can be booked together to accommodate up to 10 guests. Shop, pub and restaurant 1 mile.

    Lovely cottage with very helpful owners - who also live on site Just a couple of points - larger towels (bath sheets rather than bath towels!) Didn't try the hot tub as it is in a bit of an exposed location - more hardy souls in one of the other cottages did however and seem to enjoy!! On the whole a very comfortable cottage suitable for the two of us and a very enjoyable holiday

If payment is not received in full on time, we can treat your booking as cancelled by you for a non-refundable reason.
