On the lower ground floor, guests have the option of staying in either a super kingsize bed or a twin bedroom. Yew Tree Cottage is the perfect bijoux country retreat. The cottage comprises of a master bedroom with a super kingsize bed and a second bedroom with twin beds and a luxury bathroom complete with a cast iron roll top bath.

Owl Cottage and Dove Cottage both feature a wonderful four poster bed on the first floor en-suite master bedroom. While the living rooms have a wood burner and snug area, double doors to the kitchen hallway and a single door to the first floor master four poster en-suite. Barn owls can be regularly seen at dusk, hunting in the surrounding fields and hedgerows, hence the name Owl Cottage, and a painted shield coat of arms incorporating an owl adorns the fireplace. While Dovecote Cottage’s namesake, the 17th century dovecote located in the grounds of Grey’s Court is mentioned in Pesvener’s Historic Houses of England.
The village of Southrop features a number of celebrated local attractions. The cottage is beautiful, just as the pictures suggest. The lady who greeted us was the biggest asset; so helpful and friendly. Responded to messages within minutes. Was very Tempted to invite her in for coffee to listen to all her stories. (I do recall her name but you aren’t allowed Personal info on a review) We stayed as a family with children. They enjoyed the garden space, although communal, was away from the road. Also there is a full sky tv package. The giant bath tubs were lovely, always hot water. Toiletries good quality. Linen and towels very comfy. I can’t really think of any improvements that could be made except perhaps somewhere to store coats and shoes in the kitchen as that is the door you use to access the house and it got a bit messy. There were no outside lights that lit the pathway from car or the garden area. The only pub in the village The Swan has closed down, no idea how long for. All other pubs are a drive away. There are no shops in walking distance. We would stay again.
