Just a stone’s throw from one of Newquay’s finest family beaches is the marvellous and aptly named Glan Y Mor, which means literally – Seaside! Porth Beach, on the town’s eastern side, has a wonderful expanse of golden sand with superb rock pools at low tide for children of all ages to explore! Your holiday haven, oozes charm as soon as you set foot on the small garden path; with hanging ornaments, signs and a fantastic mural created by a local artist adorning the first-floor bay window.
Inside, a very well-equipped kitchen with Rayburn oven and touch-sensitive fridge freezer, a plethora of white goods and breakfast area await. There is a living room and dining room with feature fireplace and comfortable seating too. Venture upstairs to the first floor, where quirky ornaments, lighting and enchanting original crafted Cornish furniture are in abundance. There is a cosy double bedroom, whilst stylish bi-fold doors lead into a second living room, with sofas you just want to sink into, TV, lovely desk and chair and woodburning stove. The main family bathroom has been tastefully created with hints of the Victorian era, comprising an exquisite claw foot bath with steel shower above and traditional toilet with high cistern.
Then there is the second floor, where a double bedroom and super-stylish ensuite with double shower along with two further bedrooms offering picture-perfect views across Porth Beach along with further shower room.
The area around this part of North Cornwall is spectacular, boasting many of the finest beaches, coves, inlets and coastline in the county. Newquay is a thriving town with its very own zoo, aquarium, countless restaurants and boutique shops and can be reached on foot via a stunning coastal route, leaving your car back at home. Glan Y Mor is quite unique, a retreat to be enjoyed and the ideal base from which to discover the countless hidden gems of this magical and mystical place.
