This superb, detached holiday home is nestled in a lovely secluded spot on one acre of landscaped gardens, 7 miles from the town of Clonakilty in West Cork. Complete with an outdoor heated swim spa, an indoor recreation room with steam shower and exercise equipment, it offers a very pleasing holiday experience indeed. Gearagh House dates back to 1840 when it was built by the Earl of Bandon as part of a planned village. However, the overall plan was abandoned during the Irish famine, and the schoolhouse and teachers’ residences now form a wonderful, spacious holiday home that is ideal for groups of friends or a family group. It is an excellent base for touring many surrounding areas and experiencing some of the delights of the Wild Atlantic Way. Clonakilty is a colourful, award-winning town that has an abundance of shops, restaurants and pubs. You are sure to find a souvenir of your stay, whether it’s the work of West Cork artists, craftsmen and women or artisan food producers. The award-winning beach at Inchydoney, 8 miles, is just one of a number of beautiful sandy beaches along this stretch of coastline. Further afield, you can soak up the atmosphere of historic Kinsale, or play a round of golf at the spectacular Old Head golf links. The unspoilt Mizen, Sheep’s Head and Beara Peninsulas give an additional flavour of the magnificent scenery in this corner of Ireland. Cork airport is approximately a 50 minute drive away. Horse riding nearby. Shop 2 miles, pub 3¼ miles and restaurant 7 miles.
Approximate distance to Cork Airport is 51 km.
