Garden Cottage, built in 2021, is a stunning country cottage set on a working farm in the heart of Dumfries and Galloway surrounded by glorious countryside. Garden Cottage offers the perfect luxury get away and is the ideal base for exploring the area. Surrounded by quiet country lanes and glorious open countryside it’s perfect for walking, cycling, bird watching or even just relaxing! Attention to detail is evident from the moment you walk through the door of Garden Cottage from its sumptuous bed, luxury walk-in shower room and the delightful open plan living. The large picture window to the front of Garden Cottage is the perfect spot to sit and enjoy the views overlooking the pond where you can spot a variety of wildlife. You may be lucky enough to spot, mallard, Canada Geese, Oyster Catchers of perhaps even a red kite.
If you can tear yourself away from Garden Cottage the surrounding area is just as spectacular. This fabulous area has many opportunities for hill walking, mountain biking, at the world renowned 7 Stanes courses at Dalbeattie and Mabie, water sports as well as beautiful sandy beaches to dramatic cliff tops along the majestic Solway Coast. The area is well recognised for its clear skies, as one of the 12 best stargazing sites in the world and the first Dark Sky Park in the UK and at Garden Cottage you will be amazed by the dark starry skies. Castle Douglas, known as the food town, a delightful, small market town only a short drive away, has an array of independent shops selling local produce and quality gifts. There is a number of cafés, pubs and restaurants to enjoy a meal in, as well as excellent butchers and food shops for you to sample the local produce.Alternatively a meal can be provided in the main house (by prior arrangement) using the farm’s own locally sourced produce. Another pretty little town to visit is Kirkcudbright, known as the artists town, attracts visitors throughout the year drawn by the harbour, historic high street and the diverse range of annual events and visitor attractions. Garden Cottage and the area will certainly have you wanting to come back again and again!

The difference between the £20 low deposit and the usual deposit shown in our main brochure or website is payable with the balance payment, which we must receive no later than 10 weeks before your booking starts, or at the time of cancellation if you cancel your booking. This payment will include all applicable charges as detailed on your booking confirmation, including any insurance premiums and any Ferry costs. If payment is not received in full on time, we can treat your booking as cancelled by you for a non-refundable reason. If this happens, you will be responsible for cancellation charges (as shown in our main brochure or our website) including any deferred Booking Fee, Personal Travel Insurance and Ferry crossings that you have chosen to buy, all of which must be paid immediately. 6.
