Tranquilly tucked away amidst the rolling Sussex countryside, Forest Farm Cottage is a real gem beckoning those who wish to steal away for a romantic break, or to simply take time out from the busyness of everyday life. Rural idyll awaits, where you can sit in dappled sunlight beneath the leafy canopy and rustle up a barbecue meal on the built-in barbecue on a sunny afternoon. Ponies graze contentedly in the adjacent fields as you look out and savour the glorious surroundings. Located in the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the glorious Sussex countryside is at its best here, with walking and cycling in abundance.
Standing detached and offering an open plan living space, this charming, detached cottage has cosy underfloor heating throughout from an eco-friendly biomass boiler. It features a stylish eco wood burner and an impressive 4K Smart TV in the living area, and the well-appointed kitchen area has everything guests could need during their stay, including a bean-to-cup coffee machine (with coffee beans thoughtfully provided too). Stunning exposed stonework can be seen in the double bedroom, which has a roomy kingsize bed and its own en-suite shower room, making this room just perfect for couples. A second twin bedroom with use of a modern family bathroom completes the accommodation.
Delightful Balcombe village is not far away, and a pleasant 1½ mile walk via footpaths across fields and woods leads to the local community owned pub, complete with its own microbrewery, as well as the village shop and highly regarded tea rooms. Within a similar distance are the famous Wakehurst botanic gardens to explore and admire. Local National Trust houses always make a great day out, and nearby are Standen, Nymans and Sheffield Park. Other gardens such as Leonardslee, High Beeches and Borde Hill Gardens are also stunning places to visit. Ardingly Reservoir is a local nature reserve at its southern end and is also great for water sports. Other places of interest for all the family include The Bluebell Steam Railway, various local vineyards and Tilgate Park.
A short drive away is Ashdown Forest, famous for its stunning biodiverse heathland and views, as well as Winnie the Pooh’s bridge. Local towns and villages offer a broad and eclectic range of shopping, cafés, pubs and restaurants. For a trip to the seaside, Brighton with its iconic beach is 21 miles away and by rail, you are also a 50-minute train journey from central London.
Staying closer close to home, enjoy a picnic in the field next to the property or simply relax on the decked terrace surrounded by wildlife at this enchanting place. One visit will not be enough!

    This is a stunning cottage. It is extremely well equipped and spotlessly clean. The owners are very helpful and approachable. There is everything you could wish for and more.
