Damside Cottage oozes wonderful original architecture. From interior stone walls to beamed ceilings, you can’t get more of an English countryside cottage than this. The property is located in a small row of cottages and has a small private courtyard area covered in wild flowers for your enjoyment.
Ellel is a small, picturesque village with lots of fabulous walks to enjoy right from the doorstep, including the forests around the university and the canal from the neighbouring village of Galgate. There is a convenient cycle track taking you straight into the historical city of Lancaster, as well as leading to Lancaster House Spa where you can enjoy a relaxing massage, Jacuzzi and swim. Cycling and walking routes continue into the Forest of Bowland, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, just a 10-minute drive away.
Damside Cottage is 2 minutes from the motorway junction, making it a perfect base from which to explore the North West of England. Damside is also situated within a 10-minute walk of Lancaster University. The southern Lake District is a 30-minute drive away, where you can explore any of the 214 Wainwright Walks, take a boat trip on the famous Lake Windermere or simply enjoy some cocktails in Bowness’ abundance of boutique bars. Nearer to the area is the old market town of Garstang, which has lots of independent shops, pubs and a weekly market on Thursdays.
You are spoilt for choice with seaside towns such as Morecambe Bay, 13 miles, and Blackpool Beach, 30 miles. Shops ½ mile, pub ½ mile and restaurant ¾ mile.

    Lovely cottage. Friendly and welcoming hosts. Very well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, lots of information about the local area and outside area to sit and relax. Perfect location for walks in the local area and exploring further afield. Highly recommend.
