South facing to enjoy the best of the sun every day, this hand-crafted timber cabin sits on the edge of a woodland overlooking the owner’s croft. It offers an escape for couples who want to enjoy the stunning scenery and the peace of outdoors. Tucked away in the peace and tranquillity of the hills behind the coastal village of Connel, with stunning rural views towards Glen Lonan. Just a scenic 5 miles’ drive from the busy seaside town of Oban, and with all the home comforts you need, you’ll be super cosy all year round.
Lora Cabin has been thoughtfully laid out to maximise space and is completely open-plan. There’s plenty of space to relax on the comfy seating or on the welcoming double bed, where you can enjoy watching the wall-mounted TV with access to channels via a Firestick. A large patio door opens out onto a lovely decking area sheltered by the overhanging roof. There’s outdoor seating with a separate barbecue area, perfect for watching the day go by or gazing up at the stars on those clear, dark sky nights.
Within walking distance of the cabin is the village of Connel, with three restaurants and three bars, a convenience store, and a railway station. You are a short walk from the beautiful Loch Etive and the amazing natural attraction of the Falls of Lora, a tidal race underneath the Connel Bridge.
Ideal for walkers and cyclists, sitting right on the rural lane network forming part of the National Cycle Route 78 which stretches all the way from Oban to Fort William, but which also leads to the stunning Glen Lonan to the east, Kilmore and Loch Nell to the south, and Connel to the north. The road towards Oban winds through the hills past Glencruitten Estate, where there are some lovely walks with views over the town and countryside.
Oban, just 10 minutes’ drive away, is a bustling west coast harbour town and has lots going on for the visitor at any time of the year. Known as the ’Gateway to the Isles’, with ferries leaving daily to many islands, such as Mull, Iona, Staffa, Lismore. In keeping with its reputation as the ’Seafood Capital of Scotland’, there are some excellent restaurants, cafés and pubs. You’re also close to Dunstaffnage Castle and the Ocean Explorer Centre in the village of Dunbeg, which also has a very popular garden centre with a café.
