Kitchen: With electric double oven, gas hob, microwave, slow cooker, fridge, freezer and dishwasher.

First Floor:

Bedroom 1: With double bed.
Bathroom: With bath, shower cubicle, toilet and heated towel rail.

Second Floor:
Bedroom 2: With kingsize bed.
Bedroom 3: With twin beds.

Gas central heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included.

Garden with patio and garden furniture. Parking permit for 1 car; additional on road parking (2 hours with disk) and public car park (at cost). No smoking. Please note:.. There are steep stairs in the property.

Bookends is a charming house on a quiet residential street, moments from Cockermouth main street. Built in the mid-1800s it has one king, one double, and one twin bedroom over three floors. There is a courtyard space, together with all the amenities for six adults, or family groups.
Cockermouth offers tasty treats, leisurely breakfasts, cake galore, delicious suppers, and hearty pub fare. Should you wish to rustle up something in the kitchen, you will find it well-stocked with equipment and a spice pantry. Why not let the slow cooker take care of dinner while you head out for the day. A supermarket can be found a few minutes’ walk away, and Cockermouth boasts independent butchers, greengrocers, and bakers. Nearby, you’ll find the beautiful northern fells for walking, Bassenthwaite Lake and Derwentwater for sailing or kayaking, and Whinlatter for mountain biking. There are theatres in the nearby towns of Keswick and Whitehaven (Theatre by the Lake and Rosehill), and escape rooms and cinemas are just a short drive away.
The Bookends House name comes from the extensive collection of classics you’ll find in the ’stairway library’, pick one up to read in the houses’ reading nook. You’ll also find more rainy day entertainment in the game’s cupboard, and Netflix is always logged in. The house was redecorated in 2020, in a cosy contemporary style. There is a parking permit for one car for the nearby car park, 300 yards, and additional parking is found on road for loading and unloading and short stays. Our youngest guests are catered for with a changing area, highchair and travel cot. Shop, pub and restaurant ¼ mile.

    Bookends is a lovely house. It has loads of space, great facilities and is near the centre of town. If the parking was a bit nearer it would be perfect, but even that isn’t too far away.
