Blackrock House is a beautiful detached property, best suited to couples looking for a romantic coastal break. Situated in the fishing village of Johnshaven, it boats amazing sea views from the large gable windows from both downstairs and from the galleried bedroom upstairs.
The ground floor benefits from lovely open plan living with both a wood burner and underfloor heating, giving the property a truly warm and relaxed feeling. Whether the sun is shining or winds blowing, Blackrock House provides mesmerising views of the North Sea.
Located in the fishing village of Johnshaven, this stunning property is within walking distance of the local pub and tea room. The working harbour gives this village a real community feel. The annual Fish Festival attracts worldwide visitors and creates a fantastic buzz through the village, usually held the first two weeks of August, it draws huge crowds to this otherwise quiet, laid back village.
If you can tear yourself away from the views at Blackrock House, then there are many attractions available in this area. Cyclists and walkers will delight at the many routes on offer, suitable for a variety of fitness levels. There are plenty of routes nearby, which include Stonehaven and the stunning ruins of Dunnotar Castle, located approximately 12 miles from the property. South Aberdeenshire has no shortage of beaches, try some rock pooling at Catterline, followed by a visit to the local restaurant. Approximately 4 miles away you will find the beautiful St Cyrus National Nature Reserve where you can visit the sand dunes and take in the local wildlife, including butterflies and birds.
The nearby River Esk provides excellent fishing opportunities, flowing right to the Montrose Basin. This estuary is also home to many species of birds, including the pink footed geese. For golf fans, Carnoustie and St Andrews are also easily accessible. Not to mention Montrose, Stonehaven, Brechin and Edzel nearby too. The larger cities of Aberdeen and Dundee can be reached in under an hour. Blackrock House is a stunning property perfectly situated for all this wonderful area of Scotland has to offer.
