Accommodation description

Acorns is a beautifully appointed ground floor apartment set in a quiet location, which offers a superb large covered decked area with a hot tub. There is a delightful private garden with a series of waterfalls ending in a beautiful ornamental pond, with an arbour and seating area. The owner has thoughtfully provided bathrobes and slippers for your convenience. If you are looking for peace and tranquillity, then this is the place for you.
The apartment is situated on the outskirts of the small hamlet of Dolphin, with its 16th-century Inn, which is within a 5-minute walk of Acorns. Located just a short drive from the A55 express way, it is an ideal base to discover North Wales and Cheshire. The famous 7th-century St Winefride’s Well, one of the Seven Wonders of Wales, is a short distance away, along with the 12th-century ruins of Basingwerk Abbey located within the grounds of the Greenfield Valley Museum Heritage Park. An hour’s drive will take you to the magnificent mountains of Snowdonia and Llandudno, or you can enjoy the many walks available including the open common area of Halkyn Mountain, Pennant Way, Offa’s Dyke and The Welsh Coastal Path.
Within driving distance is the pretty market town of Mold, with the famous Clwyd Theatre Cymru, which offers many excellent productions, and the lively street market on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Visit the historic town of Holywell, just 1½ miles away, enjoy a day at the attractive resort town of Prestatyn or relax at Talacre Beach with its Nature Reserve, both within 10 miles. Situated over the England–Wales border, The Wirral, Liverpool and the historic city of Chester with its famous Rows, Roman walls, Racecourse Zoo, shops and restaurants, all make great days out. There are many castles and beautiful gardens to discover including the must see Bodnant Gardens in Snowdonia and Ness Gardens on The Wirral. Beach 11 miles. A little slice of paradise and the jacuzzi was the thing that made it that extra bit special. Beautiful surroundings and the garden was amazing. Plenty of places to visit within an hours drive. A couple of little things that bothered us, fabric conditioner on the towels, no milk when we arrived, notices everywhere and a microwave that looked so old we didn’t touch it however everything else was fantastic. Liz was welcoming and came looking for us when the sat nav couldn’t find the cottage. We would happily visit Acorns again and again and again

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for your comments. Regarding the microwave, it is only 2 years old and of a retro style. It is a bit unusual as it is a Whirlpool corner microwave which fits perfectly in the corner of the kitchen work top.
