Great touring base
These single-storey, semi-detached barns, which have been converted to a good standard, are situated on a working arable farm close to the village of Hinderclay. Located in the Waveney Valley, Hinderclay provides an excellent holiday base for touring the counties of Norfolk and Suffolk. Suffolk has some beautiful villages and coastal resorts well worth visiting including Southwold, Aldeburgh and Lowestoft all within an hour’s drive, or the historic St. Edmunds with its Georgian theatre, abbey and gardens is 16 miles.
The Norfolk coast and Royal Sandringham are also less than an hour’s drive or why not visit the Broads at Beccles (30 miles) where daily boat hire is available. Closer to home fishing is available at the Hinderclay lakes. Bressingham Gardens and Steam Museum are 4 miles. The market town of Diss and Thetford are also within a short drive.
Thetford is filled to the brim with history and heritage sites, quiet gardens, open parkland and a relaxing riverside. It is also famous for its forest where you will find the start of the Peddars Way footpath and national cycle route. Norwich, the county town of Norfolk, famous for its castle, cathedral and museum, is 20 miles. For those looking for a more relaxing time there are plenty of good walking routes and cycle areas within the vicinity so be sure to pack your walking shoes.
