  1. Hollyberry is a lovely cottage situated in a beautiful landscape with views of mountains and the sound of the nearby stream - idyllic! There is also a good walk up into the mountains which can be easily done from the cottage. Killarney is an excellent base from which to explore the region, and has a wide choice of good restaurants and pubs etc. The only slight is that the track leading up to the cottage can get a bit overgrown, as it was when we were there, so it would be helpful if it could be kept cut back a bit when visitors are staying there. Otherwise, we had a fantastic stay at Hollyberry and would recommend it. July 2012.

We wondered where on earth we were coming to as the roads became increasingly narrow and when we turned onto the final approach, with the grass growing up the centre of the track and a rabbit leading the way up hill, our imaginations began to run riot. But there stood Hollyberry Cottage, four square to the elements, with the mountains rising up across the valley. Extracting the key from its ’hidden location’ was interesting and there weren’t any obvious mounting blocks to assist anyone of insufficient height. However, the first impressions when we got in, were, ’Oh, Yes - this is lovely’. There were little things that weren’t right and we’ve told the owner about all of those. A couple of things that we forgot to mention to him were that there’s nowhere to hang outdoor coats, so hooks on backs of doors would be helpful, as would a clothes rack. It was a relief to find that, contrary to what the initial information said, the electricity wasn’t coin in the meter, but payable at the end according to meter readings. June 2012.
  3. This is our second time back at this cottage and we love it, if you want a quiet beautiful location this is the place for you. A fantastic base for walking and it’s great that our dog is welcome too. March 2012.
  4. This is the best self catering cottage I have stayed in, it is a prefect base for a walking holiday and in the most idyllic location overlooking the Reeks. The owner is welcoming and friendly and I would highly recommend this to other holiday makers. Sept 2011.

  2. This cottage with an Idyllic view over a working fishing area was a joy to stay in. Snow topped Caruntoohil Mountains, behind the blue waters of the Dingle peninsula, just outside the front door, made this a perfect ’Out of Season’ location for a quiet and romantic Valentine break. Right in the middle of the Dingle peninsula and the Ring of Kerry, it took no time at all to reach the far out treasures they call the ’Kingdom of Kerry’. Thank you - you did it Again! Feb 2009.

  1. We were surprised by the cottage it definitely exceeded our expectations. The view over the lake with the mountains was breathtaking we never tired of seeing it. The cottage was ideally situated to tour the Ring of Kerry. The owners of the property were friendly and helpful with plenty of tips about places too see and things to do. We never wanted to leave and look forward to returning at some future time. March 2012.

Really magnificent views, and a warm relaxed welcome from the owner The final part of the approach to the property was very very steep with double bend in the rather narrow road, and after one day we found an alternative route to and from Kilorglin with a mor undulating hills.The cottage was secluded and in a beautiful position overlooking Lake Caragh with Dingle Bay beyond that and with a backdrop of mountains. Sheer Magic! Cottage, clean and fairly minimalist but met our needs well. Could have done with a couple of little side tables near the sofas as there was nowhere to put our cups of coffee or wineglasses. Only on the floor. A couple of trays would have been useful also, we could have had the odd meal in front of the Darts Championship on T.V.This is the first holiday we have ever had where the beds where just as comfortable as our own at home!This was probably our last trip to Ireland.as we are probably just going to have hols in England from now on because of the travelling. This was a great holiday. We love Ireland, the food, the people, and the scenery. Just perfect! July 2011.
  3. This is a really great cottage with the most amazing view in Ireland. It is a real delight to stay in. Although remote it is easily accessed and directions are easy to follow. The owner supplies access to detailed maps of the area which were invaluable. We would definitely book it again. July 2011.

  2. We flew to Ireland from JFK. We spent two nights in Dublin before driving to Anascaul. While Dublin was interesting we truly felt immersed in the Irish way of life in Anascaul. The property was in excellent shape in a beautiful area of Ireland. We arrived at midnight because of car trouble and Mrs. McCarthy had kindly stayed up and made scones for us. We had breakfast outside in the morning and the yard and mountains beyond are gorgeous to look at. This is a very peaceful setting. the Dingle peninsula is beautiful. June 2012.

  1. The picture of the cottage in the brochure does not do justice to the property because the windows look black and it makes the property look uninviting. Because we knew the property from a previous visit to another property nearby this did not concern us. Finally, we took a trip in a fishing boat owned by John O’Shea to the Skellig Islands and it was the absolute highlight of the holiday as we saw gannets diving into the sea, dolphins swimming and diving in and out of the water alongside the boat, a turtle near the island as we landed, many seals and so many birds on the island that it was a truly wonderful trip. Aug 2007.

  1. The house was well equipped and beautifully furnished and in the most perfect position for touring the beautiful south west countryside. The property owners were very welcoming and the area was very quiet. All in all we would highly recommend this property. June 2012.
  2. The cost reflects the fact that the house is a little distance from the coast, places like Dingle or the Ring of Kerry. Be prepared to travel the same few miles of road each day. The local village has a pub, a Chinese and a pizzeria, all of which were OK if not haute cuisine. Warm and comfortable, with hospitable owners. May 2012.

  4. This is an excellent property every thing provided for every need. Lovely bedding, towels, tea towels, dish cloths, liquid soap, toilet fresheners, toilet rolls. Excellent crockery, cutlery, cooking utensils and glass wear. We had a wonderful welcome from Mr & Mrs O’donoghue with a tray of tea & cakes which was very welcome after a long journey. Nothing was too much trouble for them. A lovely couple. May 2011.

  1. Very well appointed bungalow in a superb position with open aspects from the lounge across to the two peninsulas and sea. Great for bird watching in the warm - egrets, shelduck and redshanks only a few yards from the window. Very clean and comfortable and it was lovely to be able to have an open fire when some of the days/evenings turned bad. The owners are really nice and we have long chats with Vera. We love Glenbeigh - our second time at this bungalow. April 2012.

  4. Beautiful place, surrounded by mountains one side and the sea the other - across which was a stunning view of the Dingle Penninsular. The house is very spacious and well equipped (including washing machine, dishwater and entertainment ranging from an upright piano to a blu-ray disc player). Lovely host, was very helpful and friendly. Reasonably remote (that’s a good thing) but a short walk/drive to the village and it’s pubs/restaurants/shops and an even shorter stroll to the river and the sea. Oct 2009.
