  1. This is the 2nd time we have stayed at Gunside. This is such an ideal location for visiting places. The accommodation is spacious, clean and comfortable. The views are terrific. We will certainly stay there again. Highly recommended. July 2012.

  6. Booked this last minute for a 40th Birthday family get together and it did not disappoint. The reality of Gunside Farm Annexe is far superior to the photos shown on the website. This is not really an Annexe but part of the main farmhouse, full of character with four super double bedrooms. Fantastic value for money and a helpful owner (a bit tricky to find but worth the trouble!). Feb 2012.

  1. Lovely little village, everything you need is there shop, bed and pub, for after those long walks. Excellent facilities in the cottage, would definatley return. March 2011.
  2. The accommodation was spotlessly clean and other than some minor issues with where to store non-fridge type food, the, ’old stables’ were comfortable, warm and we enjoyed our stay very much. Nov 2010.
  3. The cottage was compact but cosy, it catered to all our needs for the week and made a fantastic base for exploring the local area. The cottage owner provided a welcome pack which included tea, coffee ans milk and household items such as washing up liquid, cloths and tea towels were provided which was very useful. Oct 2010.

  1. Good general facilities. Due to the confined lounge area the sofa and chair were rather small. Just about OK for the week though. Loved the lounge doors into the garden, listening to the rain was actually a delight! June 2012.
  2. It really is a home from home. We wanted for nothing re the home comforts. It was spotless throughout. The owners were very discreet, but were there if you needed them. (which we never did) The information Package for everything was consise and clear. Go and see, you will not be disappointed. June 2012.

Willow Cotage was excellent in all respects except I have marked comfort low as the settee and chair were very low and as my husband has arthritis he found difficulty getting in and out of the chair/settee.   1. Comfortable, easy parking, great location for walking. Being right next to a pub is one of those you either love it or hate it. But didn’t get any trouble from it, and entrance is well away from the pub. June 2012.

This was a really lovely place to stay, clean, bright, comfortable, well stocked throughout from a welcome tray of tea coffee sugar and milk in the fridge to lovely bedlinen and plenty of towels. The gas central heating and hot water was included in the price which made it easy when you needed extra warmth but also easy to be as respectful and careful with energy use as you would be at home. We would definitely stay there again and recommend it to others. The location was really great too and good shops and pubs with great food and drink nearby. May 2012.

  1. A lovely "quaint" cottage, typically found in the numerous Peak District villages. Plenty of room for 4 adults and a pet dog (we may take ours next time). A very cosy home from home. Looking forward to yet another return to the Peak District, most likley to be in Tideswell as it has everything we need. Dec 2012.

  4. Cornerstone cottage is a warm, comfortable and clean cottage. It is the only cottage in Derbyshire we have ever been back to more than once in all the 20 years we have taken walking holidays in this area. The village is at the bottom of the hill and so are the pubs and great chippy. I would reccommend Cornestone and if you like reading there are plenty of books available to read. Feb 2012.

  7. The property was very spacious and is a lot bigger than can be seen from the photographs. It is in a good location for access into Tideswell and onto the major routes. The property is well laid out and is comfortable and though it wasn’t needed on our holiday I would imagine the real fire in the lounge would be a delight to sit round on a cold winters day.   2. Fantastic location overlooking picturesque church within a minute walk of market place which has excellent facilities including cafe, pubs, post office and village shop. No private parking but streets near cottage not busy and free parking and we were able to load/unload right outside cottage on arrival and departure. Good quality fixtures/fittings, large screen TV in lounge and bedroom and amazing power shower! Plenty of room for a couple and dog with small enclosed garden. Plenty of fields/walks within 5 minutes of cottage. Centrally located for major attractions including Buxton, Bakewell, Chatsworth House (all within 30 minutes scenic drive). June 2012.

Small front and rear garden with seating areas. A comfortable bed, excellent shower and modern bathroom coupled with two TVs/DVD upstairs and downstairs provide the necessary relaxation.   1. We absolutely loved the cottage as it was in the middle of some beautiful country side away from civilisation. When we arrived the cottage was clean and tidy and well stocked with cleaning products and a range of videos. June 2012.
  2. A well located cottage with good walks from the door, warm and cosy when the log burner was lit (we needed it in July!). Not suitable for the infirm, as there are two steep steps up into the double bedroom, which you have to remember if you get up in the middle of the night. June 2012.
  3. We had a wonderful week. The cottage was ideal for our dogs, though you would need animals that behave around sheep (ours ignore them). The countryside was spectacular with super walks through the hills, along old railway tracks and by the canal. The cottage was well equipped and the owners welcoming without being intrusive.   2. The property is furnished and finished to a high standard, it is a 10 minute walk from the center of Bakewell in a quiet off the road situation. The stairs are steep and there are four levels, so it’s not really suitable for anyone who would find this a problem. We had a very nice week there and everything we needed was to hand. Oct 2011.

  8. This spotlessly clean and comfortable house was the best equipped holiday cottage we have ever stayed in. Everything you could possibly think of was there, even down to tablets for the washing machine and dishwasher. We made good use of all the picnic equipment and beach toys as the weather couldnt have been better. The 2 gardens at the property (there is a hidden one!) are lovely too. We had a very relaxing stay ay Sunnyside and would definitely return to this property if we come to Ryde again. April 2011.

  3. Despite the "cottage" label the accommodation is spacious with a large lounge and two large bedrooms. The cottage is well appointed with good quality furniture and very nice decoration. Without any doubt, excellent is the right word. Can’t recommend this enough. Nov 2010.
  4. Very attractively renovated house, seating and beds comfortable, both bathrooms plenty of storage space not usually found in holiday accommodation, rooms spacious. June 2010.

  6. Cosy, but short of excellent because it did not have the facilities other similar properties have and some of the decor was a bit tired. I have marked "Poor" for in-property information because it was tucked away in a drawer, the owner did not point it out to us and as a consequence we only found it on the last day. I don’t expect to have to rake in every drawer to find this information. I suspect the quality was quite good, but its no good if you can’t find it. Aug 2009.
