This charming, detached holiday home surrounded by its own land enjoys stupendous views towards Morecambe Bay. Set in beautiful walking country near the Dales Way, the footpaths, bridleways and walled lanes provide walks directly from the house. Centrally placed for touring, with many historic buildings close at hand including Sizergh Castle, Levens Hall and Gardens, Holker Hall and Motor Museum, plus the 12th century priory at Cartmel. Lake Windermere, surrounded by exciting visitor attractions such as the Aquarium of the Lakes, Lakeside to Haverthwaite Steam Railway and the Brockhole Visitor Centre, plus the towns of Bowness and Windermere are all within 20-30 minutes’ drive. The market town of Kendal, 6 miles, has a castle, leisure centre, riverside walks and excellent variety of shops and restaurants. The high fells of Central Lakeland and the beautiful lakes of Coniston Water, Ullswater and Derwent Water can be reached in about 40 minutes for climbing and scrambling or simply to enjoy the magnificent scenery.

    Arrived for Christmas and not a decoration insight, disappointing so had to go and prepare Christmas and bring from home...luckily I live an hour away. Kitchen fridge didn't seal properly and unit's tatty and damp damaged and wood curling away and poor quality. Equipment and utensils great but disappointed in state of kitchen for the cost of property. Upstairs lounge carpet dirty and the sofas were dreadful to sit on and I brought throws to cover up as they were so old and marked. tV had no signal so left a day early as too quiet once family left and only two of us. Bedrooms smelt damp and furniture from the ark, looked as if it was 1950s and certainly not up to par for a rental. Won't even discuss bathrooms which neeeded refurb and far too many issues to write. Disappointing experience and only made tolerable because we felt comfortable with the dogs...because everything was shabby!

A contact number to call in the event of any problems is given to all guests before arrival and also displayed prominently in the house. Some of the points you raise could have been quickly addressed by using it. The house is regularly inspected by the agency to ensure it is kept in good condition and meets the standards required for this grade of holiday let; we have a programme of reviewing and replacing items as appropriate and welcome feedback from guests as part of this.Thank you for yours.
