Lack of privacy. Cottage windows look directly into owners house and vice versa. Poorly equiped kitchen. Furniture second hand tired appearance. Owner overbearing and hostile when asked for basic kitchen equipment that wasnt provided and entered cottage when we were out on at least two occasions. We left 3 days early as we felt uncomfortable with his attitude and didnt want any further confrontation.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; I am very disappointed with this feedback, especially when I went out of my way to get the Cottage ready for the guest’s arrival because they wanted to arrive earlier than the allocated time, even offering a lift from the bus stop to the House. The guest asked for a butter dish which I did provide on the same day. I entered the House on the first occasion to deliver the butter dish that the guest had requested and the second occasion was when the sky windows were left open during a heavy rain shower - I had to go and close all the sky windows to stop the rain getting in. I did text the guest, letting them know and I asked them not to leave the sky windows open again whilst out. The House had been used by my parents who live overseas but due to bad health, they are not able to come over anymore. It is all new to us if there is anything that we have forgotten and I am more than happy to provide whatever it may be straight away. It is a privilege seeing different people coming over to enjoy themselves whilst they are staying with us at our House.

The cottage was an excelent holiday cottage and the owner was very welcoming. We had booked the cottage based on the rail link to sheffield but found the station car park full because of commuters and could not park there. However we used a park and ride bus service instead for our journeys into sheffield.

The cottage was very nice and apart from the low double bed was very comfortable and enjoyable.
