Accommodation description

This cluster of stylish and comfortable holiday properties (refs 31270, 31271, 31272, 31273, 31274, 31275, 31276, 31277, 31278, 31279 and 31280) are situated in a beautiful, rural location on a family-run, organic dairy farm. The properties have been sympathetically converted from the original farm buildings that date back to 1821. All take their names from the lakes around Snowdonia and enjoy far reaching views across Snowdonia and the rival mountains. Guests to Gwynfryn Farm have access to a superb, indoor swimming pool complex with a sauna and Jacuzzi. As well as the swimming pool, there is a fitness room, LTA tennis court, a football pitch and an inside play area for the under 5s. A large games room houses a pool table, table tennis, air hockey, table fooball and a 58" TV. The friendly owner also provides a barbecue party to all guests, free of charge, between the summer months of May to early September. These are usually held on either a Monday or Tuesday evening (weather dependant). With so much to keep you occupied on the farm, it may be difficult to tear yourself away, but this area of Wales has some wonderful activities right on your doorstep.
Pwllheli is only 11/2 miles away and is the main town of the Lleyn Peninsula. It has a popular market on Wednesdays and Sundays in the main square. The town is full of character with its narrow streets, which have many independent shops, boutiques, traditional pubs, cafes and restaurants, as well as award-winning fish and chips, traditional Welsh ice cream and seaside rock. The 50 miles of Heritage coastline has been designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Pwllheli’s beaches are mainly south facing; Glan y Mor Beach is sandy and sheltered near the marina, and South Beach is mainly shingle and pebble, and stretches the length of the attractive promenade, with a play area and skate park nearby. Spend the day walking the many miles of coastal walks, watch seals basking on the rocks, visit Pwllheli’s marina, play golf at one of the many courses close by, spend the day walking in Snowdonia National Park or visit the Iron Age hill fort.
Porthmadog is just 13 miles from Pwllheli and Caernarfon is 21 miles away. With its charming houses and breathtaking views, Portmeirion is about a 30-minute drive from Gwynfryn Farm. Anglesey Sea Zoo is nearby, as are the Llandudno Copper Mines, both great days out for all ages. Having spent a busy day exploring all that this charming part of Wales has to offer, return home to Gwynfryn Farm, knowing that comfort and peace and quiet await you. Beach 11/2 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 11/2 miles.

All on ground floor: Living/dining room/kitchen. 1 double (5ft) bedroom with en-suite shower room.

Oil central heating, electricity, bed linen and towels included. Travel cot and high chair on request. 32" Freeview TV. DVD. Electric cooker. Microwave. Shared laundry room with washing machine and tumble dryer. Dishwasher. Fridge/freezer. Wi-fi. Shared lawned garden with patio, sitting-out area and furniture. Parking (1 car). Shared, indoor heated swimming pool (9 x 5m, depth 1.3m) with shower and changing facilities, open 7am to 10pm (adults only after 7pm). Shared hot tub. Shared games room with table tennis, pool table, table football, TV area, soft play area and giant chess. Shared tennis court. Shared gym. No smoking.

It’s just little things like …. • Everything was the bare minimal i.e. no mixing bowl or any other bowls to use, just sauce pans, frying pan and some oven Pyrex dishes for cooking. • lack of a kitchen towel (so I used the bathroom hand towel), lack of a sponge for washing up or a cloth for wiping down surfaces. • Only two working TV channels (BBC 1&2), others were breaking up but in my sisters place, she had a few more channels. • Bathroom radiator wasn’t working for the last few days of our stay • Bathroom sink with a mixer tap not ideal for a man who shaves as he can’t bend down to shave. • Swimming pool didn’t look clean so didn’t use • Hot tub’s water was green so didn’t use. • Picture didn’t depict the actual frontage of the cottage we had (Peris) • Certainly not room enough for 4 dogs!! • Not enough washing machines (only 2) for the 11 cottages/apartments it houses. • Fridge and freezer very close to the kitchen door and the door would have been better fitted to open right to left instead of towards the kitchen door • Instructions to TV and machines in the kitchen would have been helpful. • On leaving, went to the farm house, knocked on the door (ajar) and I asked if anyone was in, someone answered yes then silence and I asked it it was ok to go in and there was no reply, waited 5 minutes and no one appeared so I left. On a positive note • The radiators in the kitchen/bedroom weren’t working but the farmer had this fixed within 24 hours • Situated in a good location • Not far from the town • Great beach 5 minutes away in the car to run the dogs.
